Exmoor National Park - To conserve and enhance the natural beauty, wildlife and cultural heritage
On the boundary between Devon and Somerset lies Exmoor National
Park. A place of outstanding beauty, the park has a unique
beauty and peace and a great place to explore – especially
on horseback.
| "A Gem of a National Park" |
The park is 693 km² (267 mile²) of hilly open moorland. Exmoor is one of the first British National Parks, designated in 1954, and is named after its main river, the River Exe. Several areas of the moor have been declared a Site of Special Scientific interest.
Open heather moorland offer breathtaking views out onto rugged
costlines and the mountains in Wales. If you are lucky you
may spot the rare and famous red deer and wild Exmoor ponies.
Seasons
Throughout the year the seasons offer an ever changing landscape. Whenever you visit Exmoor you will see beautiful countryside.
Ever Changing Exmoor
Spring brings snowdrops, primroses, bluebells and wild flowers - carpeting the area in abundance
Onto Autumn and Winter

The Exmoor Pony is a native breed which is an important part of Exmoor heritage, once on the brink of extinction it's now fighting back.
